**JUNE SHOW**LINCOLN CENTER**
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The first weekend of the 29th ANNUAL AMERICAN CRAFTS FESTIVAL at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City, was unequivocally the best ever. The second weekendLpf this two weekend event had strong sales equal to our previous best weekend ever. This event which took place on JUNE 4, 5 and JUNE 11, 12, 2005 had total sales that allowed most high-end crafters to enjoy approximately $4,000 to $20,000 per weekend. Estimated retail sales reached $2.6 million which made it the most successful in the history of the event. Both weekends of the event enjoyed solid audiences. The weather was temperate on the first weekend but hot on the second. However, that did not dissuade a strong buying public from attending. Although some wholesale activity was reported as well, exact figures are not available. The retail volume per capita income was approximately $6,700 per craft-artist based on information from approximately 45% of the participants. Although jewelers in precious metals and designer apparel seemed to do particularly well, there were exceptional sales in leather, clay, glass, wood and various home furnishings.
Estimated attendance was approximately 120,000 people over the four-day festival. The American Concern For Artistry and Craftsmanship exclusively produces the craft events held at Lincoln Center. The American Crafts Festival in June and the Autumn Crafts Festival on the first and second weekends in September are events that provide limited entertainment, craft demonstrations, natural and exotic food, parking and hotels with craft-artist discounts.
The AMERICAN CRAFTS FESTIVAL at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the AUTUMN CRAFTS FESTIVAL, also at Lincoln Center, are available exclusively to American craft-artists and attract participants from every region of North America.
